The world is split into 5 major regions with different species making up the populations of each region.
Obviously there's the City of Dunlok that has been where we've been playing in so far and it is the Neutral Hub for the peoples of the world.

To the North there is the Rosalyn's which is a Human empire that freely use magic in all forms as well as some psionics to get things accomplished. Besides the human majority there are tribes/clans of Giants & Goliaths in the mountains. Halflings inhabit the cliffs in the east of the Empire, their community is called Cliffside. There is The Throne of Sophie or the Floating City this is the capital and in the Wellspring mountains. The Floating City sits on top of one of the tallest peaks, but cut in half and turned upside down and floats. The Nobility, Royals and the High Wizards of Rosalyn live on top of the floating plateau. The Commoners live below on in a ring around the pinnacle as well as into the mountainside. The Flying City is a smaller version of the Throne of Sophie. There is also the University di Magika where Wizards and Psions go to study and perfect their studies. The University is directly funded by The Empire.

To the West is the Elves and The Emerald Enclave. Over the River Of Silver Tears is the where the Everlong Woods begin. There is the Emerald Spire where The Council and Aristocracy live. Then the multitude of Groves within the wood. The Elves have there own school of Wizardry, Spire of High Magik (only the brightest elven minds have been allowed to study within the Spire.

To the South is Varden's Reach. Varden's Reach is split by the River of Golden Well. It is a kingdom mostly made of humans, but there is a large dwarven collective who are a part of the nations government and defense forces. The major city in Varden is called Varden's Home and is truly that. Varden has lived and ruled for almost 1200 years. Arcane magic does not take as prominent a role as it does with the other nations, but is still there. There is a budding college that was founded 50 years ago by one of the most powerful wizards of the day. The Founder and Current President of the College is Grandmaster Wagner Hillstrand. There is also a grand cathedral in Varden's home dedicated to the Church of Lathander/Pelor.

To the East is the Endless Sands and the Peoples of the Sand. Human and Halfling Nomads travel from oasis to oasis. There is rumors of other things that inhabit the sands, but again these are rumors as usually no one who doesn't know the desert will come back from any journeys into the sand.
The Everlong Woods used to strech to the far shores of the continent, but over time as humans grew to power and after the Great War 2200 years prior where elves and humans fought against one another. The Results were that the Everlong Woods were cut in half and the eastern half never recovered and slowly the Endless Sands has grown.

Dunlok was founded 300 years before and is the only truly neutral ground for the whole world. It must be this way to ensure that the denizens of the underdark do not overtake the surface. Dunlok is not only a trading city and neutral place, but also a sort of release valve for the underdark. It was built on top of an old site where the Underdark Wars Started and Ended and is why it is considered Neutral Ground. It was here that a large rift and passage into the Underdark existed. After the War ended Druids, Wizards and Psions combined their efforts to heal the lands as best they could and "Cap" the Flow of evil to the surface. Now there are other ways into and out of the Underdark and there are still access to it within the City, but not like it used to be. Before the City you could march entire Divisions of soldiers and materials through the rift.

More to come soon.
